Wedding Check List...
Nine to twelve months before the wedding:
- Organize a meeting between both families; determine the budget and choose the style of reception to be held.
- Set date and time of the wedding, taking into account all events of that day.
- Avoid the wedding at 2 p.m., wine of honour at 4:30 p.m. and reception at 8 p.m.
- Guests will likely feel abandoned during the pause.
- Contact pastor or priest to set date of the ceremony.
- Contact Jardins de Ville (819 566-6464) to reserve a reception hall.
Six months before:
- Choose the wedding dress.
- Draw up the guest list for the meal and wine of honour.
- Get confirmation from chosen witnesses.
- Prepare the necessary documents for civil and religious ceremonies.
Three months before:
- Order announcements and invitations from printer.
- Choose attire of groom, ring-bearer, flower-girl, bridal procession, as well as your own accessories: veil, shoes, etc.
- Draw up a marriage contract at the notary’s office, if applicable.
Two months before:
- Create a gift registry.
- Mail announcements and invitation cards.
- Make honeymoon reservations.
- Choose wedding rings.
- Reserve photographer.
- Order bridal bouquet and floral arrangements (church, reception, etc.)
One month before:
- Bring all documents to Town Hall for publication of banns.
- Proceed with trial make-up and hairdressing.
- Obtain confirmation from all suppliers, with proof of required deposit.

Two weeks before:
- Last fitting of wedding dress. With all the stress, your dress size may have decreased!
One week before:
- Break in new shoes by wearing them around the house (a little trick that can avoid limping to the altar!)
- Confirm florist and photographer with Jardins de Ville: their hour of arrival and your precise expectations of each.
